Mahmoud Shahat Anwar’s Recitation of Verses from Surah Hajj (+Video) 

CAIRO (IQNA) – Egyptian Qari Mahmoud Shahat Anwar recently recited a verse from Surah Al-Baqarah that is about the Hajj pilgrimage.

Some two million pilgrims from around the world have flocked to the holy city of Mecca to perform the annual pilgrimage.

In a gathering of people in Tawfiqiya Village in Egypt’s Beheira Governorate on Friday, Mahmoud Shahat Anwar recited Verse 197 of Surah Al-Baqarah:

“The months of the hajj (pilgrimage) season are well known. Whoever undertakes to complete the hajj rituals, must know that, after commencing the acts of Hajj, he is not allowed to have carnal relations or to lie or to swear by the Name of God. God knows all your good deeds. Supply yourselves for the journey. The best supply is piety. People of understanding have fear of Me.”

Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.  

It is performed in the lunar Hijri calendar month of Dhul Hajja (which began on June 20.

Mahmood Shahat Anwar, the son of late Sheikh Muhammad Shahat Anwar, was born in 1984.

He memorized the entire Quran at the age of 12 and learned Quran recitation with his father.

He has won many top titles in national and international Quran competitions.

The top Qari has traveled to many countries, including Iraq, Iran, Qatar, the UAE, Algeria, Syria, Pakistan, South Africa, Greece, Turkey, and Belgium, for recitation of the Quran.
